SMD Marine Systems is a company specialized in telecommunication equipments on board cargo and passenger vessels and in development of special projects according to the needs of our costumers, using the most modern technologies available in the market.

Founded in 1998 at Santos port, Brazil and with vast experience in the maintenance, installation, repairing and sales of telecommunication, navigation and security equipments directed to the market of merchant and passenger vessels, SMD Marine Systems technicians attend vessels all over Brazilian coast. Some of its technicians have more than 25 years experience in the field with solid knowledge about installation and repairs of terminals of Inmarsat since its first generation (Inmarsat A). They also perform installations and repairs on gyrocompasses, automatic pilots, radars, ECDIS, integrated bridges, AIS and GMDSS radio stations.

SMD Marine Systems carries-out Radio Surveys for Classification Societies ABS, BV, LR, NKK e RINA. Through courses carried all over the world for the representatives of the equipment that SMD Marine Systems represents, its technicians are in constant contact with the most modern techniques and available technologies in the market, what it makes SMD Marine Systems capable to offer to its customers services of quality and trustworthiness.

In the area of special projects, hardware and software development, SMD Marine Systems develops dedicated projects for monitoring and controlling in accordance with customers’ needs. One of the most important projects developed by SMD Marine Systems is the PVMS (Port and Vessel Monitoring System), in which all movements of vessels in monitored ports can be seen and followed in real time via internet. PVMS is in constant expansion: soon, new tools will be available and more ports will be monitored.

Recently, the SMD Marine Systems developed for the Government of Paraná, Brazil a system of monitoring and control of traffic in the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina, to optimize the port operations in these regions.

In order to get more clients, SMD Marine Systems is always searching to develop new projects, being applied modern technologies.
